A forest preserve development on Whidbey Island

The natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest lies in its trees, water, lush habitat alive with birds and deer, mountains and vistas. This native grandeur is at the heart of BirdWood, an ecologically sustainable development of ten-acre parcels in Greenbank Township in central Whidbey Island. BirdWood spans valley, wetland and bluff above Saratoga Passage that separates Whidbey and Camano Islands.

Each parcel has been surveyed and is accessed by a two-lane, all-weather, rock road. Electricity and water are installed, and a septic perc test approval is recorded at Island County. Possible home sites have been cleared so that each parcel is ready to build. Features vary with each parcel and include water, mountain and territorial views, ponds and wetlands, mature trees and meadows.

A shared grassy trail circles the development to offer 2.5 miles of walking or riding. Hidden Beach access is less than a mile away off North Bluff Road. Greenbank Farms County Park, with wine tasting, restaurant, art and music festivals is two miles away.

Every parcel in BirdWood has been replanted and thinned to promote a healthy and diverse forest. The current zoning is Designated Forest which offers very low property taxes and allows for up to one acre to be cleared and developed for a residence, gardens and outbuildings. BirdWood is an opportunity for forest stewardship, which can be a wonderful legacy for family and a healthy planet.
